Hello!

I’m an editor and journalist based in Brooklyn, New York.

I helped lead The Appeal, commissioning and editing stories on the U.S. criminal legal system and social justice. I’ve worked on stories about illegal traffic stops and searches in Pennsylvania, the federal government’s failure to gather data on deaths in custody, and efforts by community organizers to secure housing rights during—and after— the COVID-19 pandemic.

Previously, I freelance-edited for Grist. I’ve led the opinion section at Newsweek, editing pieces on politics, culture, foreign affairs and more. Before that, I edited the opinion page at U.S. News & World Report in Washington, D.C., and greased the social media machines at NPR and Democracy Now.

I also like music, if that’s your bag. I’ve reviewed some shows in New York here, here, and here.
